Prof. Ella Daniel

Prof. Ella Daniel is the head of the Social Development Laboratory, Department of School Counseling and Special Education, School of Education, Tel Aviv University. She is also a visiting academic at the University of Oxford. Dr. Daniel is a developmental psychologist, focusing on development of values and pro-social behavior, across the life-span, and specifically among children and adolescents. She investigates mechanisms leading to maturation in values and behavior, including cognitive and language development. She is also studying the role of the social environment, such as family, social media, school and culture, in this development.  

Together with her colleagues across the world, and her large research group, Dr. Daniel conducted studies applying a large variety of research methodologies For example, her studies apply longitudinal designs, surveys, interaction analysis, computational methods and observational studies. Her work is funded by multiple funding agencies, such as the Israel Science Foundation, and the European Research Council. It is published in leading academic journals in the fields of developmental and social psychology.
